Pat Lacon - Head Coach at Upper Dublin High School

Pat Lacon – Head Coach

Coach Pat Lacon comes to Upper Dublin after spending six seasons at LaSalle College High School. While at LaSalle, Lacon’s primary role was head JV coach from 2012-2018. During his tenure as a member of the LaSalle coaching staff, he helped guide the program to five Philadelphia Catholic League Championships and three PIAA State Championship appearances. Prior to LaSalle, Lacon was a member of the Wissahickon High School coaching staff (2009-2011). Coach Lacon coached at the middle school level at Welsh Valley Middle School in 2008 and also numerous Wisslax teams from 2008-2014. He started his playing career at The Woodlynde School in Strafford, PA. After graduating from The Woodlynde School, Lacon was a member of the Albright College Club Team where he was part of the team’s transition to a Varsity sport. He is currently a 6th grade teacher at Wissahickon Middle School.

Steve Young

Coach Young is a 2004 graduate of Upper Dublin High School and lettered in football and lacrosse while attending UDHS. A quarterback on the football team and lefty attackman on the lacrosse team, he has many fond memories of being a part of both athletic programs.

Coach Young has spent the past fourteen years coaching football and lacrosse in the Upper Dublin School District and township. He first started coaching UDJAA football in its inaugural season and Crooked Crosse Lacrosse Club (now Upper Dublin Lacrosse Club) during the spring. Coach Young spent several years coaching Sandy Run Middle School football, as well as coaching the first Sandy Run boy’s lacrosse team. For the past six years, Coach Young has been on the football and lacrosse staff at Upper Dublin High School. Coach Young attended West Chester University and is a health and physical education teacher.

Grant Murray

Coach Murray loves the sport of lacrosse and has always admired the UD program.  He graduated in 2016 from Manheim Township High School, having earned three varsity letters as a starting defensive midfielder.  Grant later attended Cabrini University in Radnor, PA and served as the President of their club lacrosse team from 2017 – 2020.  In that time, he helped elevate their level of play, leading them to a respectable national ranking of 13th of all NCLL teams!  Following his graduation, Coach Murray continued to give back to the lacrosse community in a coaching capacity.  He has worked for South Jersey’s Headstrong Lacrosse organization as their defensive coordinator and as a head coach for their middle school team.  He also returned to his alma mater in Manheim Township as a defensive midfield coach and as their box lacrosse coach.  Professionally, Coach Murray is a Team Manager at Evolution Gaming, the worldwide leader in live dealer table games.

Roger Reynolds

Episcopal, 1984, Washington & Lee 1988

Coach Roger Reynolds started his coaching career with the English Lacrosse Union from June 1988 to April 1989. Started as an assistant at Episcopal, working for Hall of Fame Coach John Wynne beginning in the spring of 1989. Coach Reynolds coached as his assistant there through the 1998 season. While at Episcopal, he held the program to seven Inter-Ac league titles, two state championships, and five other appearances in the state finals.

Coach Reynolds returned to Episcopal with his second tenure in 2001 apart of Head Coach Andy Hayes’ staff. In 2016 Coach Reynolds joined the Cardinals staff primarily working with the defensive unit. Outside of Upper Dublin, he is a contributing coach with 1st Start Lacrosse (youngsters) and the Philadelphia Faceoff League, which is headed by John Bodnar.
